Hans Kooi's sculptures can be placed in kinetic art. In his practice, he primarily investigates the exciting and fragile interplay of two field forces: magnetism and gravity.
Kooi mainly uses wood, stone and magnets as materials. His geometric and organic compositions often consist of two or more parts connected through empty space by the magnetic field lines.
Hans Kooi's work has been exhibited since 1971 and is included in both private and public collections worldwide.
