Ronny Delrue's oeuvre develops around his drawings, which are created almost daily. They form, as it were, a diary in which thoughts, ideas, memories, new developments and mnemonics are collected.
Delrue's work centres on the tension between memory and disappearance. His drawings, paintings, sculptures and perforated works often show a few elaborated details on an otherwise faded, veiled or vanished image. Personal as well as collective memories fade with time, while some aspects of them crystallise into an almost indelible particularity.
From a desire for research, he broadens his art practice through correspondence and collaborations with outsider artists or colleagues abroad. About this, both the Centrale in Brussels, and the SMAK in Ghent brought an exhibition with an accompanying double publication in 2019.
