Presentation of Riki Mijling's new multiple at PAN Amsterdam

In recent years, Riki Mijling’s work has received significant attention from museums. In 2020, the Städtisches Museum Wesel (DE) exhibited her monumental sculptures in the Willibrordi Cathedral; in 2022, the Art Center Hugo Voeten in Herentals (BE) presented Riki’s largest solo exhibition; and two years later, a solo show took place at Atelier Voltenin Amsterdam (NL).

Then, last year, came the good news that her work would be featured in an international exhibition organized by the Lechner Museum in Ingolstadt (Germany) to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Lechner. In the exhibition A Matter of Perspective, Riki’s work was displayed alongside that of some 18 renowned artists, including Donald Judd, Richard Serra, Agnes Martin, Robert Morris, Carl Andre, and Imi Knoebel.

A staple of all these exhibitions was the 2019 sculpture duo Experience of Silence (E.S.). It consists of two identical sculptures, each made up of two identical sections measuring 172 x 86 x 86 cm. By arranging the sections in different compositions, a completely different spatial impact is created each time.

In response to this museum spotlight, Riki Mijling decided to create a smaller version of E.S., which will soon be on view for the first time at Coppejans Gallery at PAN Amsterdam. In addition, the new multiple E.S.–M was produced in an edition of 30 copies.

The multiple will be presented in the presence of the artist on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at booth 61 at the PAN fair.
