To mark Antwerp Art Weekend, Coppejans Gallery and Gert Junes Gallery are joining forces for the project ‘Currently Unavailable’, a two-venue exhibition featuring artworks that are not there. Currently Unavailable, een tentoonstelling op twee locaties met kunstwerken die er niet zijn.

The work Fountain by Marcel Duchamp, for example, is in the Philadelphia Museum of Art and is therefore unfortunately absent from our exhibition. That is why we sought the best possible alternative: we are presenting a series of works that might not have existed without this legendary urinal, which once drastically broadened the perspective on art.

Stijn Coppejans and Gert Junes have thus selected six key works from recent art history, which they relate to selected works by the artists they represent through their galleries.

There is also a nice addition. As part of the M HKA on the spot project, the M HKA has also loaned a special work by Robert Filliou, which will be included in the exhibition.
