Today the exhibition “Lothar Wolleh: Intuition! Interaction!” opens at M HKA. The expo was curated by Stijn Coppejans and is on view until 30 May.
For this solo exhibition, Stijn selected a series of portraits of artists connected to the avant-garde scene around the Antwerp Hessenhuis between 1958 and 1962. There is also a series of nine photographs that were manipulated by the portrayed artists.
Besides joint works by Lothar Wolleh and respectively Pol Bury, Lucio Fontana, Vic Gentils, Heinz Mack, Christian Megert, Günther Uecker, Georges Vantongerloo and Jef Verheyen, the exhibition also includes photographs Wolleh made of Armando, Enrico Castellani, Jan Hendrikse, Adolf Luther, Otto Piene, Jan Schoonhoven, J.R. Soto and Daniel Spoerri.
