The interdisciplinary oeuvre of Johanna Van Overmeir includes performance, installation, video and visual art. Her work often takes the form of a ritual.

In her performances, her body is used as a medium. She continuously performs actions that have to be repeated, so that the viewer is quickly taken into a cocoon in which time and space freeze for a while.

Intuition and even instinct guide her in the actions she takes. In this way she communicates with the viewer in an authentic way about society and our relationship with the world.
